Soaking in a sea salt bath is for more than just relaxing and healing tired and sore muscles. It can also help ease the mind, cleanse the body and eliminate pathogens, which are microorganisms that can cause disease.
Epson salt and sea salts contain minerals such as magnesium and potassium that when absorbed through the skin in a warm bath may help eliminate toxins and balance the entire body. It acts as a natural anti-fungal substance and helps remove impurities from the skin. It balances alkalinity by helping remove acid buildup from improper dieting or overworked muscles and can slow down the progression of arthritis. It's a great stress reliever as magnesium is important for managing stress. It also helps boost the immune system, improve circulation, is a great anti-inflammatory, and helps soothes muscle injuries, especially after any surgeries.
Sea salts baths should be taken in moderation, but do enjoy them when you can. Set the mood; fill up your tub with warm water, add your favorite sea salt, dim the lights, add some mellow music, maybe some candles and soak away.
